Hi there,

I have a lot of Dell 610 and 510 servers all runing iDRAC Enterrise 6. All working a treat.

We have recently got a new Dell 620 server, with iDRAC Enterprise 7.

I have configured it, can ping it but cannot login in remotely. I have read all the other forum posts but stll havng trouble.

I have tried IE8, Chrome, Firefox.

I have added the URL to my trusted sites, deleted all the browsing data, removed the latest Java on my computer, installed the certificate but still no joy. I can still connect to all my other servers runing iDRAC 6, but wondered if anyone had any other ideas?

Many thanks

Kevin

Hello,

I have a PowerEdge T320 with iDRAC7 with Basic Management. If I want to upgrade to Express or Enterprise, do I need to install some new hardware or the server has all the hardware and it's all about licensing now?

Thank you.

SAS Disk Upgrade via OME Failing

Is the firmware upgrade 3JVY1_WN32_YS0A_A07 for SAS drives valid?

The download web page is contradictory about the firmware version that it contains. First sentence states YS09. The fourth line states YS0A. Upgrades via OME and  iDRAC both fail. The lifecycle log reports that DUP specified is not compatible with the target device. Our R720 devices are on version YS09.

idrac7 1.51.51 and LC2 1.3.0 WSMAN changes - ConnectRFSISOImage method broken

Hello,

I have recently upgraded the iDRAC7 firmware of an R620 to 1.51.51 and LC2 to 1.3.0 and seems like the RFS (remote file share) "ConnectRFSISOImage" WSMAN command no longer works. All the related methods: ie. disconnect, check if an image is connected still work and also I can use RACADM to connect the same IMG image file without any problems - see below for both RACADM and WSMAN output (the latter consistently says "Cannot connect to ISO using RFS"). Did anything change in the OS Deployment WSMAN Profile regarding RFS methods with the new firmware?

RACADM output (works just fine):

=============================

[root@lab-prov1~]# racadm -r 192.168.100.50 -u root -p calvin remoteimage -c -u root -p test123 -l "192.168.250.53:/nfs/test.img"
Security Alert: Certificate is invalid - self signed certificate
Continuing execution. Use -S option for racadm to stop execution on certificate-related errors.
Remote Image is now Configured

WSMAN output:

===================

[root@lab-prov1 ~]# wsman invoke -a ConnectRFSISOImage http://schemas.dell.com/wbem/wscim/1/cim-schema/2/root/dcim/DCIM_OSDeploymentService?CreationClassName=DCIM_OSDeploymentService,Name=DCIM:OSDeploymentService,SystemCreationClassName=DCIM_ComputerSystem,SystemName=DCIM:ComputerSystem -h 192.168.100.50 -V -v -c dummy.cert -P 443 -u root -p calvin -k IPAddress=192.168.250.53 -k ShareName="/nfs" -k ShareType=0 -k ImageName="test.img" -j utf-8 -y basic

Dell Openmanager vCenter 0n ESXi5.5 Install issues

$

Hi all, wondering if you can help me on my install of this product. I'm not super IT guy so bear with me so I can get the details out.

Brand new ESXi 5.5 install on a Dell R610. Single Host installation with one vCenter Appliance running. I have downloaded the new 2.0 version & have installed the appliance & registered. I can sign in using a web browser to the OMSA appliance & can open the Dell interface through the vCenter web client.

I have completed the configuration wizard. Retrieving an initial Inventory failed.

I can bring up the overview screen (from vCenter client) & see that my host is non-compliant, cool. OMSA status = not installed. Compliance / vSphere / Hosts , I click non-compliant Hosts button and select the host using the wizard. I leave the Reboot at the automatic setting & kick off the process.

Viewing the recent Tasks pane in the vSphere Client (logged into the vCenter) the first job is to put the host into Maintenance mode. It gets to 2% then craps out. I get a warning saying that VM's can't be shut down. Okay fine, so I have removed all VM's from the host. This leaves just the Dell & vCenter appliances on the host now.

Read somewhere today that all installed appliances/VM's should be set to manual start-up on the ESXi host (These 2 appliances were set to auto).

Repeated process & the install of the OMSA stops at the 2% mark again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated & over to all you tech heads out there!!!!!!!

OpenManage reporting of CPU "Current Speed" vs. speed of Processor question

$

Hello,

We have two identical (other then RAM config) PowerEdge R510 with Open Manage 7.3.0 installed.   Both have duel Intel Xeon E5520 2.27Ghz processors in them.

When looking at the Processor details in OM, on one server, both processors show 1600MHz under "Current Speed".   On the other server, it reports "Current Speed' at 2266MHz.

Can anyone tell me why one server's CPU's are not running at it's maximum speed (only 1600MHz)?  Does the RAM configuration play into this?

Thanks.

iDRAC7 KVM keyboard and mouse not working in WinPE 5

Hi. We have a strange problem here. Deploying servers remotely via iDRAC. When we boot via PXE to a WinPE 5 image (WS2012R2), keyboard and mouse are not working. When we boot WinPE4 (WS2012 (non-R2)) or older, it works fine.

The PE image is working fine, I've verified it in a virtual machine where I can use kb+mouse just fine.

What could be the problem? Some Java incompatibility? Or some iDRAC kb+mouse redirection problem regarding the latest WinPE?

I've tried this in Firefox (since I can't access the iDRAC at all from IE11 - it won't let me access HTTPS website with self-signed certificate at all).

We cannot use older version of PE, it has to be 5. The servers in question are M620s.

OMSA for Poweredge 2950 running Windows Advanced Server 2000 [SP4]?

Hello everyone,

I've been trying to install a working DELL OMSA [Server Administrator] for Windows 2000 [Advanced Server Ed. with SP4]

Here is what I've tried so far with no luck:

OM_5.2.0_ManNode_A00

OM_5.4.0_ManNode_A01

OMI-SrvAdmin-Dell-WIN-440-32-339

OM_5.2.0_ISM_A00

ALL give the prerequisites error of this version of the OMSA is not support for this DELL server. This is only happening on the 2950's [2 I need this for, and haven't found anything I can use yet.]

Anyone have any ideas to where I can obtain software to check the RAID array for these if such can't be used?
Also, what's the difference between the storage management and the array manager? [I had to choose one or the other, and tried the storage management tool over array manager]

Thank you!

Changing DRAC 6 Express to DRAC III on an R710

PowerEdge R710

This currently has a

Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 6 - Express . Version 1.70

which we need to change to a

DRAC III

are there instructions, issues, or is it just a matter of power-down take the Express out, put the DRAC III in and the system will prompt - if anything - on power-up?

Kind regards Martin

What Happened To "schemas.dell.com"?

If you google "schemas.dell.com" you'll see that the domain is referenced in countless Dell articles. The web site was home to CIM schema definitions for all Dell equipment. The domain no longer resolves. Does anyone know what happened but, more importantly, how do you use the CIM commands without a reference to the schemas?

What server management software should I download for T320?

$

Sorry for newbie question, I just got my first server for business use.

Power Edge T320 x 1 , no RAID , no Controller , 1 HDD , 1 OS , with 4-5 client (wireless connection + windows 7 / windows 8)

Right now, T320 running on Windows SBS 2011 essential OS.

It has Dell Openmanage System Administrator which can be run on Server only or using Windows Remote Desktop connection (Am I right?...)

If I wish to manage/monitor my server from client computer, Can I do it? Which Software can I use ? or any Windows SBS2011 Add-ins?

but I tried to search google + dell.com but the results return too many softwares.

I downloaded them but found out that they are not compatible ( ie. Open Manage Essential).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
