Hi Community,
We recently received a handful of new R730XD servers, which carries iDRAC firmware revision 2.40.40.40.
Up until now, we have been utilizing vmcli for mounting a local iso file during deployment - but now vmcli fails with an "Error: SSL Connection error". It seems to relate to the iDRAC firmware version, as 2.30.30.30 works fine, whereas 2.40.40.40 fails with above mentioned error.
Anybody else experienced this - and any ideas for resolution/workaround?

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to run DELL OMSA 8.3.0 and can see from the CLI the hardware is showing up ok, but when I type the following command I get an error message:
omconfig system webserver -?
Error! User has insufficient privileges to run command.
Even if I "sudo -s" and go to root, root doesn't even find the "omconfig" command. How do I fix this error? I logged into the server as my main user with sudo privileges and cant run those commands. What is the issue I missed on this?

I'm at the point of pounding the keyboard and tossing it across the room with not being able to
get the Virtual Console to successfully connect. Here is the situation...... I'm able to access the iDRAC remotely via GUI or SSH and login and/or make changes without any issue. When I attempt to run the Virtual Console, it simply fails to connect. I get the error message in my Java Console of "Connection Failed".
Now I've read other posts and recommended fixes and none of them had made any difference. Here is what I've done to date:
1) Added the DRAC IP into the Java Exception List
2) Changed the Java Network Setting from Browser to Direct Connect
3) Disabled Encrypted Video on the DRAC
4) Upgraded the Firmware to v2.85
5) Confirmed using tcpdump that my host and the DRAC can talk on port 5900
6) Cycled the DRAC Plug-in Type between Java and Native
7) Run the Virtual Console (viewer.jnlp) both through the browser and downloaded the .JNLP and used javaws on it.
I'm completely out of options and of what else I could do to make the Virtual Console connection stop failing. Does anybody have any other theories that might be causing me problems?
We are having trouble upload the bin file to upgrade the firmware on our VRTX machine. The problem is the link to the VRTX machine keeps timing out over https. We have tried increasing the timeout to 180 minutes at login but the upload still fails. Is there a way to increase this timeout beyond the pre configured settings? Or is there another way to upload our bin file? We are uploading the file over a satlink and it is very slow.

I recently added ram in a dell r510 and upon doing so my License for iDRAC 6 Enterprise reverted to Express. After changing the hardware modification back to how the server shipped, the license remained at Express. How would I go back to my enterprise License the server shipped with.
I don't have any license codes only the service tag where it shows the r510 shipped with enterprise. I also don't know where I would enter a license key to upgrade/fix this problem if I had a license. The iDRAC 6 wiki only shows "iDRAC6 Licensing Information <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell" for the licensing information section.
Will resetting the iDRAC back to factory defaults fix this? Will reverting back to previous firmware settings fix this, (note: my previous firmware settings match my current v1.8 iDRAC)
Is there anyway to save the settings within the iDRAC web interface that won't save the fact that it's a Express install?
The server is currently running iDRAC 1.8. Any help would be appreciated.

The customer Arkema is facing issues to upload Vsphere drivers ISO for R810 and T310.
He is trying to upload true http://www.dell.com/support/home/fr/fr/frbsdt1/product-support/product/poweredge-r810/drivers.
The customer can't use Dell Repository Manager because of their internal processes.
Could you please help finding a solution for the customer.

I'm having problems opening a KVM session.
I can log onto the console, but when I start a new session on the server, the problem starts.
First - I get a Security Warning saying that "running this application may be a security risk".
When I accept the risk and choose Run - I get a new window saying "Network Connect Error"...
Any idea what the problem is?
PowerEdge R730xd, generated the following error last night at a time when no one was in the server room. There are no devices attached to the front panel USB port. Is this a known issue?
The USB device attached to the port identified in the message is drawing more current than is supported by the port.
Recommended Action: Reinsert the USB device in the Front Panel USB Port and retry the operation. If the issue persists, use a different USB device.

I have 2 identical Dell R420 servers with identical H710p (yes I am sure they are both 'p') mini RAID controllers. I ran ATTO disk test, then switched controllers and ran it again. Regardless of the server, and with identical settings I get very different performance with these 2 boards. I also pulled out a spare board and it tests the same as the slower one. So one board for some reason is much faster, especially on write (see screen shot of same server with two different controllers).
I am absolutely sure that all settings available to me from the Ctrl-R RAID bios and/or OMSA are the same. RAID10, Write back, disk cache mode on, adaptive read ahead - default stripe settings. Triple checked. It also looks like the basic controller settings are copied from the metadata on the array to each controller anyway. Firmware and driver versions match - both are running Server 2012 R2.
Regardless of what I tweak, the speed improvement *moves with the controller itself*.
Are there secret hidden settings on these boards? Or are there different versions of the H710p that are different speeds? I used MegaCLI to dump Cfg but I don't see anything telling there. What should I look for? I'm afraid to factory reset the fast one and risk losing the speed and I would love to get the other ones running as fast.
Note that in the attached screen shot the slower controller is showing writes at 3500 and the faster one shows writes at over 6000 - almost double.

Hello support,
We have installed the service module on server. Installed it using rpm dcism-2.4.0-358.el7.x86_64.rpm from the folder /root/idracservicemodule/RHEL7/x86_64/. Service is running but the OS details are not shown in idrac.
Also the following error is shown at Overview >> Server >> Service Module
'RAC0654: No operations can be performed on the iDRAC Service Module. Make sure that the iDRAC Service Module is installed on the server operating system, and then retry the operation'

and I'm getting this

iDrac8 firmware version 2.40.40.40 supports the Redfish schema release 2016.1 (ServiceRoot.v1_0_2), introduced in May 2016. However, the new memory schemas (MemoryCollection, Memory, MemoryChunks, MemoryDomain and MemoryMetric) aren't supported at the moment.
Are there any plans to implement the memory related schemas in a future release?

I have a Power Edge R720 which is connected ti a KVM Switch. I was updating the server this am (windows updates) and now the KVM switch tells me there is no input device detected. All of the power lights etc appear operational. I am new to this as it has been in place for sometime. If I can just reset it without causing to much damage that would be great. Thanks.
